This Slips, Trips and Falls course covers everything that you need to know about keeping yourself and others safe when working in conditions where there is the possibility of slips, trips and falls.

The course will explore who is at higher risk of slips, trips and falls so students will be more aware of who needs to be protected. This course will also explore the importance of risk assessments and how to carry out a risk assessment. The course will finish off by exploring how to report an accident in the workplace, including the RIDDOR regulation. Finally you will finish off by exploring how to prevent slips, trips and falls in the workplace.

In order to complete the course, you must achieve 80% or more in the final multiple choice quiz.

You will earn 3 CPD points on completion of the course, this course will take around 3 hours to complete and the certificate will last for two years.

Units covered

Unit 1 – Introduction to slips, trips and falls – This unit will be exploring what slips, trips and falls are. As well common causes of slips, trips and falls will be covered and the injuries that can occur.
Unit 2 – Key legislation – This unit will be covering the legislation applicable to slips, trips and falls and will consider who is responsible for managing the risks.
Unit 3 – Identifying, assessing and controlling risks – This unit will consider the meanings of hazard, risk and risk assessments and will explore in detail how to carry out a risk assessment and the importance of completing them.
Unit 4 – Reporting and recording – This unit will consider what usually happens if there is an accident in the workplace and the requirements of RIDDOR.
Unit 5 – Prevention – In our final unit we will be looking at the importance of preventing slips, trips and falls in the workplace and what measures can be put into place to help prevent them from occurring.
