Units covered
Unit 1 – Introduction – This unit is designed to provide an introduction to COVID-19, where it is believed to have originated from and the impact it has had so far globally, especially on the economy and education. The unit will finish by explaining the latest Government guidance for COVID-19.
Unit 2 – Identifying and assessing risks – In this unit you will look at the importance of effective risk assessments for Healthcare workers with regard to COVID-19 and that in a healthcare setting, the individuals who work there may be more likely to catch COVID-19 as there is increased risk of coming into contact with an infected patient.
Unit 3 – Symptoms of COVID-19 – This unit will look at the different symptoms experienced from the virus and why some people are more affected than others. You will also learn about people who have had COVID-19 and the handful of consistent symptoms between individuals, both in adults and children.
Unit 4 – Preventing the spread of COVID-19 – In this unit you will look at possible ways of minimising and preventing the spread of Coronavirus. You will learn the concept of social distancing and keeping a safe space between people, so that the virus has less chance to transmit from one person to another. As well as learning who maybe more at risk.
Unit 5 – Actions for healthcare settings during COVID-19 – In this unit of our COVID-19 in Healthcare you will look at the procedures that the healthcare setting will need to adopt in order to provide a safe environment for healthcare workers. You will learn some areas of healthcare may present more risks than others and the key factors that should be taken into account when working safely in healthcare.
Unit 6 – The new normal – In this unit you will look at the impact the virus has had so far on society, you will also explore ways to look after your mental health and wellbeing.
